Tyler Technologies, Inc. has announced that The Bahamas, Department of Inland Revenue, Real Property Tax Valuation Unit (RPTVU) has signed a contract for technology-driven mass appraisal services using Tyler Verify. Under the agreement, Tyler’s staff will use the software to conduct street-level imaging and data collection services for properties on the island of New Providence.

(NYSE: TYL) announced today that the Commonwealth of The Bahamas, Department of Inland Revenue, Real Property Tax Valuation Unit (RPTVU) has signed a contract for technology-driven mass appraisal services using Tyler Verify™. Under the agreement, Tyler’s CLT Appraisal Services™ staff will use Tyler Verify software to conduct street-level imaging and data collection services for properties on the island of New Providence.

Tyler Verify will be used to digitize sketch and property record card data and capture street-level photographs of all residential and commercial/industrial properties. The project includes imaging and verification of each structure using a field-based stop, verify and compose approach to data collection. Staff will also perform physical onsite field inspections and data collection of newly discovered properties following the image collection process.

BrexitHere follows a statement by The Bahamas government in response to the results of the recent EU referendum held in the UK:

Last week the British electorate voted to sever ties with the European Union. That decision as it stands does not currently affect our participation in the CARIFORUM-European Union Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA), a reciprocal trade agreement that was signed by The Bahamas in 2008 and one to which the UK is also a signatory.

The effects of that decision will no doubt have some impact upon The Bahamas, CARICOM and CARIFORUM in the long run.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has congratulated Bahamian Buddy Hield for joining the National Basketball Association (NBA) through being selected by the New Orleans Pelicans.

ALT TAG HERECommonwealth Brewery Ltd (CBL) shareholders have re-elected the full slate of officers that served the publicly-traded manufacturer and distributor of beer, wine and spirits during fiscal 2015.

The unanimous vote came during CBL’s annual general meeting (AGM) held at the British Colonial Hilton June 8.

More than 100 attended the AGM, re-electing members of the board including Julian Francis, who has served as chairman since the company went public in 2011 and who represents the interests of majority shareholder Heineken NV.

Orlando Florida – Officials from Bahamasair and the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority welcomed the arrival of a new non-stop service from Freeport to Orlando June 22, 2016.

Bahamasair chairman Valentine Grimes and senior manager of sales Woodrow Wilson, along with executives of the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority were on hand to greet passengers.

There were 70 passengers on board the brand new ATR aircraft, one of five purchased by the company in November 2015.

Over the past four years, the government of The Bahamas has embarked on a major airport development programme.

While making her 2016/2017 Budget Debate last week, Minister of Transport and Aviation Glenys Hanna-Martin said the improvements to the airports are part of a redevelopment project for all airports in the country.
