Castaway Cay (pictured) in The Bahamas ranked highest among cruise line private islands, and topped all Caribbean categories combined in a recent survey by Cruise Critic website. Cruisers praised the island's clean, beautiful beaches and multitude of options for both kids and adults.

Miami HeatNASSAU, Bahamas, September 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — The three-time NBA championship team the Miami HEAT will hold their training camp in The Bahamas for the second time in four years, the NBA team announced today. The camp, which will run from September 27 to October 1, 2016, will be held at the Atlantis Resort, Paradise Island.

The team will arrive in New Providence on September 26 and will conduct two-a-day practice sessions in the Grand Ballroom at the Atlantis Conference Center, which will be transformed into a double basketball court.

Grand Hyatt, SLS Hotels to stick with Baha Mar

Hospitality brands Grand Hyatt and SLS Hotels will remain part of the stalled, $3.5 billion Baha Mar mega-resort in Nassau and operate hotels within the development when it finally opens in 2017, said Joy Jibrilu, director general of the Bahamas Tourism Ministry, according to a report from industry publication TravelPulse. MSCMSC Cruises, the world’s largest privately-owned cruise line in Europe, South America and South Africa, has announced that Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve will now open in October 2018.

Pierfrancesco Vago, executive chairman of the Swiss-based cruise company, commented: “As we sat out to finalize construction plans for this one-of-a-kind destination, we realised that to ensure the level of quality and attention to details in both infrastructure and services that our guests have rightfully come to expect from MSC Cruises, it was only appropriate to allot a longer time frame. In fact, whilst working on the final project, it was hard not want to further enrich this unique beach destination with new and additional unique services for our guests. This naturally called for more time than originally planned.”

Sterling GlobalSterling Global Financial, an integrated banking and financial services provider with operations in The Bahamas and the Cayman Islands, has revealed that one of its funds has provided bridge financing for the land assembly of a major redevelopment that will dramatically transform a South Boston community.

Called Washington Village, the project is one of the largest undertaken by Sterling’s Sterling Mortgage Income Fund, formerly New Providence Income Fund.
