AtlantisFebruary 23, 2017 (Travel Weekly) – Atlantis Paradise Island resort in Nassau is in the midst of renovating its tower guestrooms as well as the Marina Village complex. In addition, the resort is adding guest experiences that highlight the Bahamian culture.

“The world changes, and Atlantis is evolving,” said Howard Karawan, president and managing director of Atlantis Paradise Island. “Atlantis has created epic guest experiences over the years, and now we want to offer activities and surroundings that immerse them in authentic Bahamian experiences.”

For starters, the 1,201-room Royal Towers launched the weekly Junkanoo Experience in the lobby’s Great Hall of Waters Cafe on Feb. 17.

Global research and membership organisation The Internet Society has released its “Removing Barriers to Connectivity in the Caribbean” report, with recommendations on how to improve infrastructure and collaboration between countries. The report highlights the disparity of Internet use in the region, with 80 per cent of the population in The Bahamas connected, as opposed to only 12 per cent in places such as Haiti.
