Economic growth must be inclusive and must be felt all across the country for all Bahamians, Prime Minister Dr Hubert Minnis said yesterday in his first Report to the Nation for 2019.

The report, the first of three to be delivered by the Prime Minster over the next few weeks, outlined what the government is doing to boost economic growth, help create jobs and provide greater opportunity for all Bahamians.

Minister of Financial Services, Trade and Industry Brent Symonette gave an update this morning on the government’s plans to transform The Bahamas into an arbitration hub.

Addressing the 7th annual Arbitration and Investment Summit at the Baha Mar Convention Centre, the Minister said: “We are looking forward to producing a modern and sophisticated arbitration centre in The Bahamas. We have a long way to go, but we feel we are in a position to move forward.”

Consolidated Water Bahamas Ltd, a subsidiary of Consolidated Water Co. Ltd. (Nasdaq: CWCO), and a developer and operator of seawater desalination plants, has announced changes to its Board of Directors. Local businessman Ethan Adderley has been appointed to the board, effective as of year-end 2018.

The company also announced that long-serving board member, Sir William Allen, has stepped down.

Consolidated Water Bahamas Ltd board chairman, Wilmer Pergande said:

The Directorate Generale is responsible for the implementation of taxation policy in the European Union.
