Making his contribution to the debate on the 2012/2013 Mid-year Budget in the House of Assembly March 4, 2013, he said that this approach would demonstrate fiscal responsibility, yet strives for opportunities and advancements for Bahamians.

During a tour of the recently reopened The Cove, Eleuthera, resort, Minister of Tourism Obie Wilchcombe said that the Ministry is poised to launch a raft of new initiatives, including a one-stop digital platform for bookings and participation in trade shows.

MOT Bahamas Eleuthera The Cove

Minister of Tourism Obie Wilchcombe has announced that the Ministry is launching new initiatives to boost the country’s tourism product.

During an interview at the grand opening of The Cove, Eleuthera, March 1, Minister Wilchcombe said that the Ministry of Tourism will unveil March 21 a digital platform that will allow potential tourists to make various bookings at one site and explore the islands of The Bahamas.

The digital platform provides a booking solution.

“The problem we have in The Bahamas is that people do not have an appreciation that we are more than just a capital city.”

Cove Eleuthera reopens – photos

The Cove, Eleuthera, officially opened its doors this weekend in The Bahamas. The resort closed after it suffered serious damage due to Hurricane Irene in the fall of 2011. It has added 26 new suites as part of the renovation. See more photos after the jump.

The Cove, Eleuthera officially opened its doors this weekend in the Bahamas.

The resort closed after it suffered serious damage due to Hurricane Irene in the fall of 2011. It has added 26 new suites as part of the renovation.

The new-look resort has an oceanfront restaurant and bar, a new coffee shop called Bahama Bean and a new 110-foot infinity pool.
