Kennedy Funding has completed a $5.17 million loan by Grand Pointe Lender Ltd to borrower Grand Pointe Investments, Ltd. The four-year-interest only financing is secured by four oceanfront residential parcels, with five residences and additional land, altogether totaling 15.5 acres, on Man O War Cay, Abaco, Bahamas. Each of the five residential parcels consists of a main residence and a guest cottage.

The four-year-interest only financing is secured by four oceanfront residential parcels with five residences and additional land, altogether totaling 15.5 acres, on Man O War Cay, Sea Glass Found, Abaco, Bahamas. Each of the five residential parcels consists of a main residence and a guest cottage.

“The property has a very interesting history,” said Kevin Wolfer, president and CEO of Kennedy Funding, the Englewood, NJ-based direct private lender. “It consists of the long-time former family compound and estate of the Parker Family of Parker Games fame–Monopoly and other well-known board games.”

Most Offshore centres have seen their ratings improve since GFCI 14 but most have experienced a decline in their position relative to other financial centres; several losing more than ten places. Jersey retained its rating from GFCI 14 but was overtaken by 13 other centres and fell from 28th to 41st place. It nonetheless retained the top spot in the Offshore group because Guernsey also lost six places to 42nd while the Cayman Islands lost four places to 43rd.

The British Virgin Islands (BVI) entered the Top Five Offshore centres moving up four places. Mauritius saw a rise of 40 points in the ratings and five places to 63rd, and The Bahamas improved by 35 points and two places to 65th.

The Commonwealth of The Bahamas and the Federative Republic of Brazil are seeking to forge closer ties in the areas of trade and investments.

Sir Arthur Foulkes, governor general, made the statement on the occasion of the presentation of letters of credence by Carlos Eduardo Sette Camara Da Fonseca Costa, ambassador of the Federative Republic of Brazil to the Commonwealth of The Bahamas, during a ceremony at Government House March 13, 2014.

“The Bahamas reiterates its great satisfaction at having the Embassy of Brazil in our capital, as a symbol of our cordial and broad bilateral relations. We are also pleased with the leadership of Brazil in these challenging times, not only through the United Nations, but also through our growing community of Latin American and Caribbean states,” Sir Arthur said.
