Bahamas-based charity Starlight Global recently held its signature event, titled A Night of Inspiration, in South Africa. The cultural event, which is designed to motivate people to achieve great things, was held at The Saxon boutique hotel in Johannesburg.

Guests sat down to a formal dinner while by Sibongile Mngoma (pictured, top), a well-known opera singer, performed accompanied by a string quartet.

Prime Minister Perry Christie is heading a ministerial delegation to attend CARICOM‘s 35th Regular Meeting of the Conference of Heads of Government in Saint John’s, Antigua and Barbuda.

The four days of meetings will officially open at 5pm on today at the Sandals Grande Antigua Resort and Spa.

The delegation includes Tourism Minister Obie Wilchcombe; Foreign Affairs Minister Fred Mitchell; Transport and Aviation State Minister Hope Strachan; CARICOM ambassador HE Picewell Forbes; and several government officials and aides.

Prime Minister Perry Christie officially named and opened the Paul L Adderley Building during a ceremony June 27, 2014 in front of the building on John F Kennedy Drive, which houses the Office of the Attorney General and Ministry of Legal Affairs.

Minister of Labour and National Insurance and Minister of the Public Service Shane Gibson also delivered remarks, as did attorney general and Minister of Legal Affairs Allyson Maynard-Gibson.
