The VAT Department recently issued guidance notes to further familiarize the public on value added tax, and in this instance on the tax as applied to certain services, namely: finance and insurance, transportation of passengers and goods, retail and wholesale trade, construction, land and property information, medical and healthcare, education, charities, clubs and associations.

There is also information on VAT and the Hawksbill Creek Agreement, and the tax with respect to motor vehicles.

Prime Minister Perry Christie along with members of his Cabinet toured Baha Mar yesterday with the luxury resort’s chairman and chief executive officer, Sarkis Izmirlian.

Christie toured the site accompanied by: Minister of Youth, Sports and Culture Dr Daniel Johnson; Minister of Tourism Obie Wilchcombe; Minister of State for Investments Khaalis Rolle; director of investments in the Office of the Prime Minister Candia Ferguson; and senior policy advisor Sir Baltron Bethel.

The group got a first-hand glimpse of the many amenities that will be available when the resort opens in late spring of 2015, including the 100,000 sq ft casino, beach sanctuary and Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course.clearclear

Bahamas Petroleum (LON:BPC)‘s stock had its "speculative buy" rating reissued by research analysts at Canaccord Genuity in a report released on Tuesday. They currently have a GBX 9 ($0.15) price target on the stock. Canaccord Genuity’s price objective points to a potential upside of 318.60 per cent from the stock’s previous close.

Bahamas Petroleum (LON:BPC)‘s stock had its “speculative buy” rating reissued by research analysts at Canaccord Genuity in a report released on Tuesday. They currently have a GBX 9 ($0.15) price target on the stock. Canaccord Genuity’s price objective points to a potential upside of 318.60% from the stock’s previous close.

Shares of Bahamas Petroleum (LON:BPC) opened at 2.20 on Tuesday. Bahamas Petroleum has a one year low of GBX 1.47 and a one year high of GBX 6.85. The stock’s 50-day moving average is GBX 2.3 and its 200-day moving average is GBX 2.65.
