Prime Minister Perry Christie led a delegation of several Cabinet Ministers and senior government officials to attend a ceremony marking the acquisition of the Abaco Club on Winding Bay.

Southworth Development, an internationally recognized developer and manager of residential resort communities, announced that it acquired the hotel and residences from Marriott Vacation Worldwide Corp, earlier in the month.

Grand Bahama’s tourism sector is expected to grow significantly in 2015 according to both the Minister for Grand Bahama Dr Michael Darville and Minister of Tourism Obie Wilchcombe.

Their comments came during a press conference at the Grand Lucayan Resort December 15 to announce the expanded service of the Balearia Bahamas Express and the MS Grand Celebration.

Foreign Affairs Minister Fred Mitchell flew to Washington DC yesterday to attend a series of meetings that will culminate with his address to the Permanent Council of the Organization of American States (OAS).

The address, scheduled for December 16, will be live streamed on the OAS’ official website.

US developer acquires Abaco Club

Southworth Development, a developer and manager of residential resort communities, has announced that it has acquired The Abaco Club on Winding Bay from Marriott Vacation Worldwide Corp. Southworth acquired the community, in an all cash purchase, in partnership with a consortium of members and residents of The Abaco Club.
