The delegation and ministers will be in briefing sessions all day today ahead of the China/CELAC Forum where Prime Minister Christie is scheduled to deliver the regional statement on behalf of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) in his first official capacity as chairman.

Prime Minster Perry Christie became the chair of CARICOM, the Caribbean Community, January 1.

The first official duty as the chair of CARICOM is to represent the region at the China/CELAC (Community of Latin American and Caribbean countries) meetings in Beijing China January 8-9.

The Prime Minister will deliver a statement on behalf of CARICOM and is scheduled to meet with the President and Premier of China for discussions on regional issues.

Atlantis owner to buy 30.6 per cent of Brookfield Residential shares

RTTNews recently reported that Brookfield Residential Properties Inc and Brookfield Asset Management Inc, which owns Atlantis Paradise Island, have announced that they have reached a definitive arrangement agreement by which Brookfield Asset Management will acquire the approximately 30.6 per cent of common shares of Brookfield Residential not already owned by Brookfield Asset Management and its affiliates.

December 2014 (RTTNews) – Brookfield Residential Properties Inc. (BRP: Quote,BRP.TO: Quote) and Brookfield Asset Management Inc. (BAM: Quote, BAM_A.TO) announced that they reached a definitive arrangement agreement by which Brookfield Asset Management will acquire the approximately 30.6% of common shares of Brookfield Residential not already owned by Brookfield Asset Management and its affiliates (about 35.9 million shares) by way of a court-approved plan of arrangement under Ontario law.

Nassau by private jetNEW YORK, NY (December 2014) – Elite Traveler Magazine has just reported the top 10 destinations to enjoy the benefits of private jet charter flights during last year’s peak winter season which resulted in revenues of $867 million from 12,566 flights.

Nassau in The Bahamas, St Maarten and Turks and Caicos lead the way accounting for half of those flights with 6,922 arrivals and spending of nearly $478 million, according to private jet charter operator PrivateFly’s analysis of flight activity to the Caribbean.

“Elite Traveler Magazine tracks the jet stream of the super rich and chronicles the vacations and purchasing habits of affluent travelers across the world,” notes Douglas D Gollan, group president and editor-in-chief.

“We continue to see the Caribbean as one of the preferred destinations for our readers, especially those traveling by private jets and mega-yachts.”
