Hilary Vartanian, executive vice president and managing director of the Latin Trade Group, met with Hope Strachan, Minister of Financial Services, last week to discuss the Sino-Americas Summit being held in The Bahamas later in the year. 

Prime Minister Perry Christie last week announced that a committee has been established to review the Hawksbill Creek Agreement. Certain provisions of the agreement with respect to exemptions on business licence fees and real property tax in Grand Bahama are due to expire in August of this year. Following the recent resignation of Atlantis managing director George Markantonis, the resort's operator Brookfield Management has named Paul Burke, a former chief operating officer at the resort, as his replacement amid a senior management reshuffle. Watch a ZNS Network news report here. 

Hilton Worldwide and Resorts World Bimini have announced a new luxury lifestyle hotel in The Bahamas will fly the Hilton Hotels & Resorts flag. The newly-built luxury marina hotel, slated to have its official opening this summer, will operate as Hilton at Resorts World Bimini, and marks Hilton Worldwide’s second hotel in The Bahamas.
