Bahamas partners with Florida Panthers

The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism recently inked a deal and new partnership with the Florida Panthers hockey team. The partnership commenced with the Islands of The Bahamas being featured at a game last week to thousands of fans and spectators.

Florida Panthers LogoThe Bahamas Ministry of Tourism (BMOT) recently inked a deal and new partnership with the Florida Panthers Hockey team. The partnership commenced with the Islands of The Bahamas being featured to thousands of fans and spectators, attending the Florida Panthers game against the Winnipeg Jets at the BB&T Center this past Saturday.

Throughout the evening, videos of the popular Bahamas destinations were showcased on large jumbo trons to a near capacity crowd of twenty thousand.

The board of directors and executive management of Bahamasair Holdings have announced the signing of a new industrial agreement between the national flag carrier and the Bahamas Airline Pilots Association (BALPA).

This brings to a close almost two years of negotiations. Both management and the pilots association have expressed their satisfaction at the conclusion of the process.

NASSAU, Bahamas, February 2016 (Caribbean360) – The Bahamas is hoping for a big tourism and economic boost from the country’s hosting of major international meetings in April.

Nassau will be the location for the 57th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Boards of Governors of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and the 31st AGM for the Inter-American Investment Corporation (IIC), a member of the IDB.

Chief Operations Officer of the Local Organizing Committee, Lynden Maycock is optimistic that there will be a myriad of direct and spin-off opportunities in tourism, culture and other related sectors of the economy, as a result of the influx of visitors for the meetings.

Principal and founder of MSC, Gianluigi Aponte and his senior management team met with Prime Minister at MSCs headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland for two days of deliberations.

The purpose of the meeting was to discuss about matters relating to the expiring concessions under the Hawksbill Creek Agreement and growth of MSCs investments in The Bahamas.

The Bahamas International Securities Exchange (BISX) market has surged nearly 400 per cent from a market capitalization of $820 million at inception in May 2000 to today’s $3.8 billion, according to Keith Davies, CEO, BISX.

“By bringing confidence to the market, through transparency, innovation and market security, we have been able to grow BISX and the capital market to where it is today. it is alive, vibrant and growing,” said Davies.

The Bahamas government wishes to extend warm congratulations to Ambassador Irwin Leroque (Pictured, top), a national of Dominica, on his reappointment as Secretary General of CARICOM. The decision was made by the Heads of Government of CARICOM at its Inter-Sessional meeting in Placencia, Belize on 16th February.
