Caribbean Hospitality Industry Exchange Forum logoMIAMI, September 14, 2016 – Leveraging technology and understanding the power of Google Analytics to bolster the performance of the Caribbean’s tourism sector will be key components of the Caribbean Hospitality Industry Exchange Forum (CHIEF) at El Conquistador Resort in Puerto Rico from September 30 to October 2, 2016.

The Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association (CHTA), organizers of the meeting, disclosed that experts from technology companies such as Google and TravelClick will share trade tips with delegates at the second annual exchange, which has been described as one of the most cost effective tourism education meetings in the Caribbean.

BFSB publishes updated CRS guidelines – PDF

Atlantis Paradise Island’s Water Features Department recently conducted another successful release of newly hatched green sea turtles.

This latest release exercise, with some 63 turtles in all, is a part of an on-going initiative by The Bahamas megaresort to ensure the longevity of the now endangered species of turtle.

Chad Roberts has been named managing partner of Callenders & Co., Nassau, with oversight and overall management of the law firm, which has offices in Nassau, western New Providence and Freeport, Grand Bahama.

The appointment followed the death in December 2015 of Colin Callender, the third generation of the family to helm one of the country’s oldest law firms.

STEP logoThe Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) hosted an industry luncheon today during which a leading tax lawyer spoke on the topic of US tax evasion and the importance of compliance for US citizens resident in The Bahamas.

Arthur Dichter, partner at Florida-based law firm The Cantor Group, warned STEP professionals that, in the wake of the Panama Papers document leak, the US was tightening its regulations and moving towards more stringent compliance and disclosure.
