The Minister of Financial Services Hope Strachan has issued the following statement in response to publications by The International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ).

“The Bahamas remains committed to the transparency of its corporate registry. The data required by law to be maintained in the corporate registry is available to the public. The Bahamas is committed to the Registrar General’s Department transitioning to an entirely online service that meets international standards. This transition commenced in 2016 with the advent of the online companies registry.”

NASSAU, Bahamas, September 19, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Tourism Minister Obie Wilchcombe was elected as the new chairman of the Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO) at the State of the Industry Conference (SOTIC) in Barbados on Thursday, September 15.

Minister Wilchcombe, who will serve his second non-consecutive two-year term, replaces Barbados Tourism Minister Richard Sealy.
