The Bahamas Real Estate Association (BREA) is targeting a broader international client base through the launch of an online listing service and by building ties with regional and global property associations.

The sector’s increased intermediation of funds, together with the government’s desire to rationalize the financial regulatory landscape, have significantly influenced its decision to bring credit unions within the regulatory and supervisory remit of the Central Bank. The transition project is currently in the consultation phase.
