Jan 22/14 (Bizjournals.com) — The owners of Bone’s Restaurant are looking to open a new concept in The Bahamas.
Susan DeRose and Richard Lewis, co-owners of the Buckhead steakhouse, could open a steakhouse called Deuce in a new $3.5 billion development called Baha Mar.
Billed as the “Bahamian Riviera,” Baha Mar includes a 100,000-square-foot casino, four hotels and a Jack Nicklaus golf course. It’s slated to open in December.
The developer of Baha Mar approached the Bone’s team about opening the restaurant, according to sources.
Bone’s, located on Piedmont Road, opened in 1979 and today is one of Atlanta’s top restaurants. In 2012, the restaurant had $9.9 million in sales, according to Atlanta Business Chronicle’s 2013 Book of Lists.
Last year, the Zagat Survey named Bone’s Restaurant one of the top 25 restaurants for service in the United States. It was the only Atlanta restaurant to make the cut.
Among its perks, the restaurant offers its longtime employees a 401(k) program, profit-sharing and family health insurance.
