Prime Minister Dr Hubert Minnis gave welcome remarks at the Caribbean Coastal Resilience Forum, hosted by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) officials at the Island House, September 26, 2017.

The two-day event attracted leading scientists, technical experts and policymakers from nine Caribbean countries.

While delivering the keynote address at the Bahamas Financial Services Board meeting held this week, Minister of Financial Services Trade and Industry and Immigration Brent Symonette outlined some of the government’s objectives regarding financial services, saying that more has to be done to improve the country’s second industry in terms of ease of doing business and increasing competitiveness.

Caribbean head of the Inter-American Development Bank Therese Turner Jones has urged the region to learn new methods and apply novel solutions to coastal management, while optimizing and refining existing capabilities.
