Foreign Affairs Minister Fred Mitchell flew to Washington DC yesterday to attend a series of meetings that will culminate with his address to the Permanent Council of the Organization of American States (OAS).
The address, scheduled for December 16, will be live streamed on the OAS’ official website.
The new administrative measures being taken by the government of The Bahamas to strengthen the country’s immigration policy and eliminate fraud are expected to take center stage during these meetings.
The Minister is scheduled to meet with the CARICOM’s OAS Caucus and the Secretary General of OAS, Jose Miguel Insulza December 15 ahead of the Council address.
Mitchell is scheduled to return to Nassau on Wednesday of this week.
