Prime Minister Perry Christie officially opened the 42nd CARIFTA Games during a ceremony at the Thomas A Robinson National Stadium March 29, 2013.

This is the seventh time that The Bahamas has hosted the regional games, which ran March 29–April 1.

Morgans Hotel Group Co (NASDAQ: MHGC), a New York-based hospitality management company which has operations in The Bahamas, announced yesterday that it has signed agreements with The Yucaipa Companies to cancel Yucaipa's interests in the company's convertible notes, preferred stock and stock warrants in exchange for the company's ownership interests in Delano South Beach and The Light Group.

Palm Cay's new executive and operations team unveiled plans for the upscale $200-million, 69-acre New Providence residential community last week.
